1. INTRODUCTION
TANI Restaurant (“TANI Restaurant”, “Platform”, “Service”, “we”, “us”, “our”) is a digital restaurant management, reservation, ordering, payment facilitation, and customer engagement platform operated by TANI, a product of Tegence Consulting Limited, a company duly incorporated under the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, store, transfer, retain, and protect Personal Data obtained from restaurants, customers, guests, and other users of the Platform, in compliance with the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023 (NDPA), Nigeria Data Protection Regulation (NDPR), the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the African Union Malabo Convention, and other applicable international data protection standards.
2. SCOPE OF APPLICATION
This Policy applies to:
- Restaurants, cafés, lounges, food courts, and hospitality businesses using TANI Restaurant;
- Customers, diners, and guests making reservations, placing orders, or engaging with the Platform;
- Individuals creating customer profiles, loyalty accounts, promotional entries, or participating in campaigns;
- Any person whose Personal Data is processed through the Platform, whether directly or indirectly.
3. DEFINITIONS
- Personal Data: Any information relating to an identified or identifiable natural person.
- Sensitive Personal Data: Personal Data requiring enhanced protection under applicable law, including children’s data, images, audio recordings, transaction identifiers, behavioral data, and preference data.
- Processing: Any operation performed on Personal Data, including collection, recording, organization, storage, use, disclosure, transmission, restriction, or deletion.
- Data Controller / Data Processor: As defined under the NDPA and GDPR, depending on the nature of the processing activity.
4. CATEGORIES OF PERSONAL DATA COLLECTED
4.1 Customer Identification & Contact Data
Full name, Phone number, Email address, Customer profile identifiers, Date of birth (where voluntarily provided).
4.2 Reservation & Dining Data
Reservation dates and times, Number of guests, Seating or accessibility preferences, Visit frequency and history, Special requests or dietary notes.
4.3 Order & Transaction Data
Menu selections, Order history, Purchase value, Transaction references, Invoices and receipts.
Note: Payment card details are not stored by TANI Restaurant.
5. PURPOSE OF PROCESSING
Personal Data is processed to manage reservations, facilitate ordering and payments, operate loyalty programs, and comply with legal obligations.
6. DATA SUBJECT RIGHTS
Data subjects have the right to access, correct, or erase their Personal Data, and to withdraw consent at any time.
